Final blog post

When working on my project the first two studio habits that come to mind are observation and stretch & explore. I think of observation becuase I used many reference photos trying to get the texture of things like leaves and tree bark. I think of stretch & explore becuase I made a lot of mistakes and had to get somewhat creative to hide them. I also had a challenge using a somewhat unfamiliar materials and tools.  A lot of my drawing was not planned. What I had in mind wasn't coming through so I had to improvise. For example, the white tree in the picture above was originally an oak tree but I felt that it didn't look quite right so I fixed it as best I could. One of my main goals was to get better at sketching and I think I defonetly accomplished that goal. It took a lot of patients to draw everything out and I feel that helped me a lot. I also wanted to capture details and I also think that I accomplished that fairly well.  My last goal was to be able to disguise mistakes. That was a very challenging task throughout the project but I tried my best and the results were pretty good. At first I was looking at making a more up close landscape but the more I worked the more ideas came to me. At first I was weary if the large moon but it worked out great. I was also concerned with the smaller details in the distance but those turned out to be one of my favorite parts. Over all, I am very proud of my work and I believe that I did fairly well for one of my fisrt times using scratch paper.
